Flat2DXF — Production-ready DXF in one click

About us

A tool born from real production experience

I have been using SOLIDWORKS and designing machinery since 2009. Along the way I saw that preparing sheet metal parts for production demands as much care as the design itself — and is often highly repetitive.

Story

Why we built Flat2DXF

Creating flat patterns, generating DXF output, checking bend lines, and organizing files can take significant time — especially on multi-part projects.

I started building Flat2DXF to solve exactly this need.

The problem

Standard DXF bend lines aren't always enough

SOLIDWORKS is a powerful and widely used tool for sheet metal design. But in some production scenarios, the bend lines in standard DXF output may not be descriptive enough for the press-brake operator. Especially on parts with reverse bends, users often have to re-edit the DXF to add triangular, round, or rectangular bend notches.

Our approach

Less manual editing, more control

Flat2DXF aims to reduce this manual editing. It helps prepare sheet metal parts for laser cutting and press-brake processes faster, more consistently, and with more control.

Mission

A complementary CAD/CAM tool

This software is a complementary CAD/CAM tool born from practical problems encountered in real production. Our goal is to offer a solution that is uncomplicated, easy to use, and genuinely saves time.
